The Weekend

We spent much of the weekend indoors catching me up on old episodes of LOST.

Boulevard

Walked down Bushwick Avenue with the Boy in the Checkered Shirt to the Montrose entrance to the train. Stopped at this cafe to see what it was about. We shared a vegetable and Gruyère sandwich. I grabbed a San Pellegrino, he had a cup of coffee. When the door opened our napkins flew off the table. So we moved to another table.

The Weekend

Spent the weekend in San Francisco practicing my French with L&J.

David Burke Townhouse

It was Restaurant Week, so the Boy in the Checkered Shirt took me out for dinner at one of NYC's most regarded establishments. We ordered from the Prix Fixe menu, both of us having the chicken, Brussels sprouts, and a glass of Malbec. I started the meal with a mixed green salad, he ordered the angry lobster. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake and the apple tart.

We arrived forty minutes ahead of our reservation, but they seated us right away anyway.

Yakiniku West

T from Chicago (but going to school in Philly) was in town. The Boy in the Checkered Shirt and I met her for dinner at this Japanese standard. Bill joined too.

Nizza

Every month or so I try to meet up with Rex for lunch. He tells me about his dating life, I judge. It works.

At this Italian caffe on 9th Ave I had the leeks soup with rabe and a sandwich.

Ippudo

We met Turtle and Ravi for lunch at this noodle shop. The Boy in the Checkered Shirt embarrassed himself when he couldn't find the front door. We liked the decor, but immediately began looking for a bagel when the meal was over.

Patsy's Pizza and Casa Havana

I went skating and the Boy in the Checkered Shirt went snow-boarding. After skating T and I went to Patsy's Pizza for some pasta. I toyed with the idea of getting the lasagna, but opted for the spinach ravioli instead. It was a good decision. I had a glass of shiraz. T had a penne in a cream sauce and a red wine that I had never heard of before. He let me taste it and it was fine, but I was happy with my shiraz.

After we went to Gym Bar for a beer. There the Boy came back from Hunter Mountain and was very hungry. We went across the street to Casa Havana. He ordered a huge plate of Pechuga Empanizada. We each had a Dos Equis.

Petrossian

Very cold day. Met up with Turtle to go skating in Central Park. Stopped by this cafe to get a coffee and pain au raisin. The buttery roll kept me warm.
