Cafe Sabarsky

For my birthday the Boy in the Checkered Shirt and I went to the restaurant at the Neue Galerie on Fifth Avenue. We had a late start leaving Brooklyn and were nearly accosted by a heroin user on the L train, but made it in time for our lunch reservation.

We started the meal with the Rote Beete Salat mit Ziegenkäse, Pinienkernen und Sherry-Vinaigrette and the Selleriesalat mit Äpfeln, Walnüssen & Endivien mit Zitronen-Mayonnaise Dressing. Meer ordered the Kavalierspitz mit Röstkartoffeln und Cremespinat and I had the Ungarisches Rindsgulasch mit Spätzle. For dessert we shared the Apfelstrudel and Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.

Throughout the meal we drank Bitburger Pilseners and Gösser Lagers.

Good friend Sevag set us up with entry to the museum.
